What could be more melancholy than the discovery a beautiful place just before it vanishes?  Perhaps, never having seen it at all?!

The Book Panic Party is a hunt for twenty (20) books containing the most charming array of mementos of the Drowsy sim's whimsical, pastoral environment.

It is also the final event to take place on the sim, which is home to the Drowsy, BP* and KUROTSUBAKI stores, before its closing on March 31st.

The twenty books are well-hidden throughout the tree-covered landscape. Many contain multiple prizes! (Click photo below to enlarge)

Nemo's Treasure Hunt

Ahoy, mateys! Nemo's Treasure Hunt is a hunt with a mission! Girl pirate-octopus and master builder, Aley Resident, (pictured to the left) perceived a need for low-prim content for homestead sims on aquatic continents such as the Nautilus archipelago. Hence, she has spent eight months (so far), tailoring original, nautically-themed, builds to fill this niche -- even creating special textures that read well underwater.

Almost everything that can be seen at The Sea of Aley -- a Linden Endowment for the Arts sim where the hunt is located -- is also in the treasure hunt itself. That's an entire pirate sim full of loot, and Aley continues to add new content as she builds.

Nemo's Treasure Hunt features 20+ treasure chests (I found 17) scripted to give prizes randomly and reset after 4 hours. Thus, you can come back and win new loot, time after time! The hunt's current incarnation continues through mid-March. Aley hopes to move it to a shared LEA region afterwards, but don't take any chances!

Aley took her initial inspiration for the project from Disneyland's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride, so you will find lots of Nemo-related prizes, as well as a whole set of prizes inspired by Gilligan's Island. There are also whimsical plush and follower pets, costumes, shipwrecks, vehicles, Atlantis ruins and more traditional nautical prizes, such as a lighthouse with attached cottage. And that's just for starters!

In the lab of Nemo's underwater base, •♦~Mickey~♦• proves that real pirates love plushies.

To top it off, Aley Resident turns out to be the nautical alter ego of legendary builder, Arcadia Asylum, whose work is collected in many places, including the Arcadia Asylum Library & Museum. True to Asylum's personal mission to get as many citizens creating content on the grid as possible, she has designed the Nemo Treasure Hunt prizes to double as teaching tools.

"I make everything specifically to be ripped apart and reverse engineered. I use multiple, separate, simplified  scripts so people can reuse them," says Aley.

Aley builds under the GNU public license, "If you make 50% changes to anything of mine it's yours to resell." Now that's a hunt! Thank you, Aley!
